L'assemblea de la Garrotxa es va reunir per la qüestió de l'eix transversal de Catalunya, el procés de configuració de la xarxa viària de Catalunya. El conflicte va sorgir a causa del rebuig de la proposta feta per l'Ajuntament de Girona a Olot, que consideraven que era insuficient la solució oferida, i es volien mantenir en el pla de l'Eix Transversal.
