Al febrer de 1975 es va produir la vaga dels professors no numeraris d'universitat i que va durar fins al mes de juny amb el final del curs universitari. Els objectius de la vaga eren un augment retributiu, un contracte laboral, el qual no tenien i rebutjaven la via del concurs oposició per ser professor numerari. Gran part dels professors formaven part de grups polítics clandestins, fet que va suposar l'expulsió també per motius ideològics a aquests.
